Environment
What we seek to care for
The environment, both in the city of Madrid and in the rest of the world, is something we must take care of and which we take very seriously.
We have electronic cards that, when removed from the room control, turn off all the lights that are not being used while the guest is not in the room.
- Waste reduction.
- Reduction in the use of plastics.
- Water saving.
- Recycling campaign.
- Raising awareness of sustainability among our guests.
Community
What makes us stronger
Collaborating with the local (and not so local) community to make a better place for the community, our employees and our guests.
- We support artists in the neighbourhood, this 2021 we have an exhibition of images taken by Sylvia and Sergio from Latitud Siete.
- During the 2019 pandemic, the entire Posada del Dragón team helped seniors with market shopping and also delivered donations to the neighbours of La Latina.
- We invite all tourists to take a piece of history from La Posada del Dragón, whenever we are available we will be happy to share with our public the stories that come from the time of the Catholic Monarchs.
- ADELA (“Asociación de Empresarios de La Latina”) has collaborated with 20 cheques of 50 € each, so that in 2019, 20 families from the neighbourhood in need can have a decent Christmas Eve dinner with products purchased in @mercadodelacebada. Proud of our neighbourhood, of our neighbours and of the solidarity of the entrepreneurs.

Our Partners
Our supply chain is important for several reasons: supporting local businesses and buying the best possible products and services.
We create partnerships with local suppliers who travel short distances.
Future Objectives:
- Alliances with eco-certified suppliers.
- Fair trade.
- Procurement policy to ensure traceability of quality and the elimination of any suppliers where there may be a risk of modern slavery in the supply chain.
- Weekly payment to all suppliers to support start-ups and small businesses.
- Provenance in the beverage supply chain for local and regional producers.
The People
Because of them we are who we are
The people who live and work in Madrid are what make the business what it is and we like to care for and invest in people.
- Working with local education and training providers to create jobs in the local community.
- In-house training to support the employment of low-skilled workers.
- Right to work for employees.
Forward looking objectives:
- No zero hours contract unless specifically requested.
- Support for training in all departments, even when not work related, up to PhD level.
- Free transport to and from work for many employees.
- Establish own bicycle purchase scheme with 0% interest.
- Secure lockers for bicycles.
- Personal evacuation plans available to all individuals on site.
- Work with local higher education providers to support young people's learning.
